BC Brain Injury Association

BC Brain Injury Association

The BC Brain Injury Association (BCBIA) is a non-profit provincial organization in British Columbia serving the interests of the acquired brain injury population.

It was founded in 1982 and was incorporated July 6th, 1983. In November 2012, BCBIA and the Pacific Coast Brain Injury Conference Society (PCBICS) joined together to become one organization with a focused and clear purpose to support the province of BC’s brain injury community.

Through years of hosting Canada's foremost conference on brain injury, the Pacific Coast Brain Injury Conference Society saw the need for a dedicated source for information and educational resources in Canada. This materialized in the form of Brainstreams.ca, a website that provides centralized resources for professionals working with the brain injured, as well as survivors of brain injury and their families.

The site focuses on promoting resources for the brain-injury community throughout B.C., but much of the information is useful far beyond the provincial boundaries. The support is there around the clock to help provide answers about living with brain injuries as well as a place to connect with others who are going through similar experiences.
