Floyd is an Agile Developer at Affinity Bridge. He works primary with Drupal and Symfony, though is comfortable working most anywhere in the web stack.
Floyd came to Vancouver from Portland, Oregon. He has been developing web applications in Perl, PHP, and Python since 2000 and using Drupal since 2005. Most of his career has involved "tech for good," helping non-profit organizations adopt open source solutions that enable them to expand their fundraising, online community management, and data analysis capacities. Among Floyd's proudest professional accomplishments is developing a fundraising platform for Mercy Corps, an Oregon-based humanitarian aid agency, that in 2010 raised an additional $1.2 million for Haiti earthquake relief. That platform is still in use today.
Floyd is an avid bread baker and the creator of The Fresh Loaf, an award winning online community for amateur bread bakers. Floyd enjoys cycling, skiing, playing tennis, and reading. He has a BA in Religion from Reed College. His senior thesis was titled "Sympathy for the Devil: Apokatastasis in the Eschatology of Origen and Saint Gregory of Nyssa."
