Maria has a broad experience in designing and implementing strategies to support the work of impact-driven organizations. Her work includes organizational and sustainability strategies for international development work and not-for-profit initiatives, web development co-ordination through agile methodologies, partnership building, crowdfunding consultancy and a broad range of general communications and business development.
She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Advertising and PR. However, Maria's interests are focused on the bridge between social change and information technologies. She has been contributing to this field in multiple capacities for over 10 years.
She has co-authored and co-ordinated the Spanish translations of the books "Remix: Making Art and Commerce Thrive in the Hybrid Economy" (2012, Icaria Editorial) by Lawrence Lessig, founder of Creative Commons, and "The Wealth of Networks" (2015, Icaria Editorial) by Yochai Benkler. She has also participated in different conferences and discussions in Europe about digital intellectual property, licensing, and funding models for open source and free software projects.
Apart from making social change happen through information technologies, Maria's other passion is her dog.
