Aboriginal Legal Aid BC

Aboriginal Legal Aid in BC is an initiative of Legal Services Society of BC (also known as Legal Aid BC). The website was created to help Aboriginal peoples in BC understand their legal rights by providing legal information and connecting communities to legal support.

Affinity Bridge teamed up with Agentic to completely overhaul the ALABC website. The new design centred around making the website and legal content easier to find and understand for those in distress. We also simplified the legal-speak into easy to understand language, making it easier for client in distress to navigate and find the information they need.

It was important that the website have an Aboriginal look and feel. We used First Nations imagery and families to add hope by focusing on the possible positive outcomes of legal help. We also used an indigenous inspired colour palette, and worked with a local indigenous artist Ronnie Dean Harris to create artwork for the header and footer.

The new website is warm and inviting, with calming and uplifting colours, clear language and well organized content —making it a much more useful resource for their audience.
